West Cheshire Autism Hub Volunteer Laura wins award at Cheshire West Voluntary Action Awards.

Three volunteers at Dial West Cheshire, including Laura Davies from the West Cheshire Autism Hub, were absolutely delighted to have recently been nominated for awards at the prestigious annual Chester West Voluntary Action Volunteer awards.

These awards are always highly sought after with peer nomination adding real value to the true meaning of the award.

The Volunteer Awards take place every December as a positive way to round off the year, with more than 60 nominations received in 2023 across the different categories.

After the CWVA team had whittled each category down to a shortlist of three nominees, a panel, including a number of external representatives, took the final vote on the winners.

Dial West Cheshire had three volunteers nominated for the final round of the awards:

Mary Byrne – Nominated for Inspirational Volunteer of the Year

Laura Davies – Winner of Mental Health Volunteer of the Year

Phil Edge – Winner of Older Volunteer of the Year

Meaghan McCauley, Volunteer & Learning Manager at Dial West Cheshire said:

“We are so proud of all of our volunteers and would like to collectively congratulate Mary, Laura and Phil for being shortlisted and for Phil and Laura going on to win their categories.”

“As a disabled people’s organisation, Dial West Cheshire offers an inclusive and supportive volunteer scheme with approximately 70% of our volunteers having a disability or long-term health condition themselves. Our volunteers are the driving force behind our work to improve the lives of disabled people. I would like to take a moment to say a great big thank you to them all.”
